Backup Water Solutions
With water becoming quite a contentious issue over the recent past. We have noticed an increase in demand for comprehensive water solutions for residences and businesses. Many of our
clients have been looking to create water backup systems, water harvesting systems
and even water recycling systems.

01
Backup Municipal Water Systems
The most typical solution today is a tank between 1000 and 500 liters as a storage system to augment the municipal supply. This system is typically fed by the municipal system, while being connected to a booster pump, which then supplies the residence or business. This could also include the connection to existing borehole solutions and water filters to bring safe drinking water into the home.
Storage tanks, filtration systems as well as booster pumps have become affordable and can typically be implemented within a 3-to-5-day period.
02
Water Harvesting Systems
The cost of water in South Africa has become quite expensive, but with the rainfall we have we can save water and money by harvesting rainwater from our roofs.

A small house of 100 sqm, could harvest 1000 liters of water from a single rainfall of 10mm.
The process of water harvesting is to collect and store rainwater in a tank, the collection is done by routing the main gutters of a residence to a tank. Once collected this water could be filtered and routed into the house with a booster pump or simply used externally for swimming pools or irrigation purposes.

03
Water Recycling Systems
This is a subject that can take many forms, but the concept is to simply store and recycle the swimming pool water that is backwashed. There are also systems available that can recycle, purify and filter drainage water from houses.
